OT: P-40 & P-38 Over Snow-Covered Minnesota

Bomber_12th

SOH-CM-2025
I thought this was cool and just had to share. A couple of Ron Fagen's warbirds got a mid-winter workout yesterday when the sun came out and the temps warmed into the 20's. I would say that it looked like warbirds over Bastogne, 1944, but the P-40 sports a North African scheme and the P-38 sports a Pacific scheme. : )

As a little detail, the Museum's P-38 is the only airworthy example that currently has working turbochargers.

Here are some still images, also from Greg Gibson (director of the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum), that were posted to Facebook.

That P38 was at our Duluth airshow in 2010... very nice plane! And today was amazing temp wise hehe

John,

Nice pictures! Love the P-38. At first I thought it was the Bonneville Salt flats...used to flying over that way. Looks like snow year round from the air on a sunny day. :) I love the feel of speed on the first photo!

Mike,

Looking forward to your P-40 and especially Me-262 ;)
