• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

OT Perhaps, but HELP to D/L and install files using Firefox.

I use Win 7 with Firefox 27 (I don't think I've got FF28 yet) and up until yesterday if I downloaded something, a popup window would confirm then an arrow on the right side of the toolbar, next to the Homepage icon would turn green indicating the D/L status. From there, a simple mouse click would install where I wanted. NOW, however, there is NO arrow and no indication of downloading. I can seach for the file name and istall from there, but, man!, is that a pain in the the caboose!!!!

How do I restore things to the way they were? The old way works fine on my wife's lappy, but the I KNOW she has FF 27 with no updates. So it seems to me that either I have to rollback FF, install a workaround of some sort or, failing that, do a system restore which is like shooting a fly with a 12 gauge. I know FF 28 is due out on 4/27 and I've not installed the beta, nor should FF update without my blessings.

As always, any advice, help, or suggestions are warmly welcomed.

Bob

Sorry to drag ya'll into my world of confusion with this semi-coherent post.

I have 28, and it's there. You might try customizing your toolbar by right-clicking at the top of the browser. The little arrow icon might be hiding among the available ones.
