OT - Thorp Fly-In

Every year a gathering of Thorp builders is held in Porterville, CA. Dad has tried to get there for the last few years, but was always done in by weather. This year he made it, and I finally managed to find a picture of his plane taken by someone else! :mixedsmi:

I came pretty close to buying one of these out of brownwood, TX. It had a HOTAS system, a bitchin' betty, inverted fuel and oil, smoke, IFR panel with gigantic color GPS and it was pristine. I thought we were a match made in heaven for 35,000 dollars until I realized I couldn't fit into it.

Such is life when you're 6'4.:mixedsmi:
