I have talked about this before and now it is just about to become a reality in FSX.

The price for the TacPac is not bad if you already have the VRS F-18. around $19.00.

If I understand them right thy will release on a later date the capability's to use the weapons on other planes as in WWII planes in FSX.

This is exciting to hear this.

:jump::jump::jump:... just read the thread over at the fsx forum.
Can you imagine an A2A Accusim Spitfire, B-17, or P-51 with this addon ? :jawdrop:

Help me understand this as the thread on the FSX forum did not clearly explain what is going on.

This is not MS but an addon by another company that will alter FSX and make damage possible? If so then the existing components within FSX, aircraft, ships and buildings which curently have no damage models will have to be altered or is this company going to produce all new aircraft and other models. Could any of the current stable of aircraft in FSX be modified to accept damage.

I thought that it was not possible to alter FSX to create damage as MS did not want it done.

Thanks

PS- I have the SuperBug and it is quit the plane.
To learn and I do mean learn to fly this plane is a sim with in a sim. It comes with a 346 page owners manual.
I get auto up dates on the plane when thy are released. As far as out doing the expansions as a combat sim I don't know. But with the new developments it possibly could with the right work from the developers of this knew technological break thou. Another thing. I said the price was $19.00 when it is $19.95 pre-order if you have the Superbug already and $29.00 after release.

Now that is exciting news!

At the moment I'm quite happy with cfs3 but will be keeping an eye on this for the future.
The biggest amount of work for turning it ito a ww2 combat sim would be in the conversion of the scenery to 1940s'.

What excites me is that the airfields can be made to look so much more realistic in fsx.

Thanks for the heads up Mike.

They have some scenery creation software that makes creating scenery very easy (these are around $30). You can place and exclude objects while fsx is running so you see the scenery in real time. There is also a free program which allows you to place runways, etc. in real time. I believe there are already several sceneries of wwII era British airfields available.

It will be interesting to watch and see what happens...

Clive, I care nothing for jets but if someone can turn FSX in to a WW II combat sim I would be there in a heartbeat.

I think all of us have done everything we can to keep CFS3 on life support and interesting until something better comes along.

Hi all,

And one of the other things about fsx that would make it a great canvas is that its has no limits on map plus you can recreate any conflict in time as you have the whole planet at your disposal.

Dave

Not knowing much about FSX

I do have a few questions:

When making a new FSX model, does it have damage boxes and a damage model that will allow bullet hits to record increasing amounts of damage to the plane?
Will ships sink and otherwise become inoperable?
What about ground objects, it states that you can hit them, I infer from this that they then stop working.
What about making tanks, ships, AA work?

I look forward to the release of phase III and seeing what can happen.
