If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Has anyone besides myself thought the new Kia "Soul" to be a rather stupid name, especially after watching their commercial?

I find myself thinking, "Yea right! Like some soul-brother's gonna be caught driving that silly looking car!" :monkies:

Speaking of silly names, what marketing genuis thought that "Fatal1ty" is a good name for a line of computer parts?

What about kids name like Nevaeh (commonly pronounced nah-VAY-uh)... Heaven spelled backwards, and Jennifer 8 Lee?

There is so much in a name... You don't want to name your child Ikhabod? (meaning grace has left us)

And what about the domain names... companies like :
Powergen based in Italy
Who Represents
Experts Exchange
Mole Station Native Nursery

This is not political correctness. “PC” doesn’t mean “not wanting to offend”, which is not a bad thing (no, really). The car naming thing is about selling cars. Business, not politics. So you people who think the above story is about political correctness would name your car “nogo”, and hope people would buy it. Let me know how that works out for ya…

The way the auto industry is going in the US at the moment, naming cars is getting easier and easier. If it keeps going the way it is, the only new car on the lot will be named "It's The Only Car On The Lot, So You Really Have No Choice."

There's an old story about the Chevy Nova didn't sell for beans in Spanish speaking countries because No va in Spanish means No go.

ironic that the fastback nova with the 4 bolt main 350 was a runnin machine in it's day. i had a buddy whi did one up with edlebrock everything on the motor. heads, cam, intake, along with a nice ignition (i forget whos)
it was one of the quickest cars in the neighborhood.

Cheezy, one of the first cars I ever souped up was an old 4 door 71 Nova that I took the straight six out of and put in a '60 Corvette 283 that I warmed over with headers, aluminum street intake, Holley double pumper and Accel ignition. It was the car that I learned to not loan your vehicle to your buddies on after one of mine blew that engine up street racing it one night when I wasn't there.

I've always fancied a '69-70 Nova SS 396 myself.
