There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I assume you're talking about Win10. I installed it when it first came available (basically as an early release) and messed with it for several weeks before I'd had enough. I'm not a tweaker per se, especially not with any OS. If it doesn't work out of the box. . .it's gone. I eventually did a "roll-back" to Win7 and been very happy with it. Unless I get rich at some point and buy a brand new system that has Win10 already on it. . .I have no desire to go through that grief again.I hate MS,
When it updated, it loaded a completely new copy of windows. Didn't lose my data, but every thing on my original desktop screen is gone and now in a file.
bring back win 7
Good to know.
Because of this issue, have been consistent with creating my own restore points lately, so if all else fails, I can "punt" and roll back the clock - so to speak.
thanks

Ran Disk Cleanup again, said I had nearly 660 GB of Error repports stored somewhere, so cleaned them out, and i Ogt my 11GB of Free space back, lol How can you dump 60 GB of reports and only get 11 GB back!?!![]()
Correct! I rolled back to a point where the updates were working, but it didn't fix the corrupted files that MS eventually purged. I really didn't expect much from Tech Support but I was pleasantly surprised.System Restore is not a complete lifesaver. . . . . . .
I have turned off any 'recommended' update notices.
