• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I like how sombody just mowed the grass around it......"yeah we'll just leave that there in case we need some firewood.":faint:

Okay all you guys in OZ......get to work! Don't make me come down there!

All is not lost:

AFC-4 1917/18 Arthur Henry 'Harry' Cobby

In the picture ID it said that that photo was taken at a MUSEUM! The curator should be taken out and horsewhipped!

Shame indeed! It's clearly visible in Google Maps street view at 202 Bessie Creek Road, Nar Nar Goon (you couldn't make it up!), Victoria, Australia. Wish I'd known 2 months ago: drove by on the highway barely a mile away.

Bernie Dingle's the curator, apparently: http://www.oldcmp.net/dingle1.html

How could it have come to that???

It's a bloody disgrace if it's a real one, but I suspect it might be a knock-off.

I think you're right, Siggi. When you zoom in, the cowling looks like plywood with peeling paint. But, still....take care of the darn thing or get it out of sight!

There's another picture of it from the front, and that looks even dodgier. The strut attatchments look like brackets/plates from a DIY store and there's an odd plate where the engine should be visible. But all stuff that could have been done to a real one to make it a more robust static display (engine taken, struts reinforced etc).
