P-3 Thread continued...

also..im going to ask again about the Aero Union paints and a possible model with the tank?

That would be cool...never got much into the firebombers-- until this week-- very interesting, I must say. Also, going to the Cal Fire website is interesting-- you can tell where their bases are, and what is at each base (with few exceptions, it's an OV-10 and two S-2Ts).

I was just going to post the same thing.

I would LOVE an Aero Union version with the tank! If no model with the tank is planned, I would even settle for an AU repaint of one of the other versions!

edit - Actually, the variant they've provided with some kind of a pod/bay under the fuse (I'm not real familiar with P-3 variants so don't know exactly what that is. Sorry...) might even work as a stand in for a fire bomber...

so I suppose this is the happy KBT team!

Taxi creep

When at idle on the runway, the plane will actually creep forward until the brakes are applied. Most other FSX aircraft will not do this. When I release the brakes and still at idle the speed will
actually get up to 35 MPH without adding any throttle. I know with the Capt Sim C-130 I don't have that issue. In a real P3 this may be normal, I don't know for sure.

I did manage to tweak another issue with the Props spinning IMHO a little too long after the engines have completely shut down (No engine noise).

in the Aircraft.cfg file I change it a tad:

propeller_moi=07.000 ///24.00 << I put the // marks to save the original setting.

I have experimented with the values and it looks like the larger the number the longer the prop will spin.
I set it to 07.000 to suit me as it seemed like the propellers were spinning a little bit longer then necessary after shutdown.

You seriously should keep a logbook/journal of these tweaks! Awesome stuff:) Pete

Thanks KBT. Ver 2.9 gave me a lot of fun in FSX... but native ver 3... just superb. I hope someday you'll get round to doing an FSX native version of your Mitsubishi F2.

Matt

Hello,

Thank you KBT !:applause:
Beautiful aircraft in FS9, and FSX superb native model, but for the outside! But I prefer the FS9 cockpit version with old instruments and radar!
will it be possible to have again the old cockpit?
Thank you for your work!

Oh yes they do! I've seen em smoke worse and less. No idea why some T56's smoke less/more than others.

I forgot to mention, to get the smoke on, you'll need to hit the I key.

StormILM

It is not to hard to do a small xml guage that will turn the smoke on when certain parameters are met such as RPM.

Thereby eliminating the use of the "I" key. I did it for several of my fleet such as the Dino's T-45C.

My biggest pain is trying to get the XYZ coordinates for the fx file without a lot of trial and error. I wish there was a program to read the MDL to get the critical XYZ information. Fortunately you have done that in the case of the P-3.

I find the panel to be too sanitary. It needs some shading and weathering in my opinion. :eagerness:

Here is a pic of my Dad's plane. Picture was taken in the 80's.

I have a better one but its not scanned yet. The Squadron was based out of Brunswick, Maine.

The bad news for me at the moment is that the model won't show in P3DV2. Also I ma not running FSX even though I have a bare bones install on my computer. It is there because the Estonia Migrator Tool requires it.

Works for me in P3dV2 (and FSX DX10) but I had to tweak the mdls with Mdlmatxx to eliminate the relective bodywork and vc.

Old Fs9 Textures works with a little bit Fixing

and there is a HD VC Textures Set on Flightsim for the Team FS KBT L-188 Electra, Works for the Orion.
