P-38 Scat III

jankees

SOH-CM-2025
a bit more progress on Scat III:

oops, why are those hatches under the engines OD?

and I forgot part of the exhaust stains, and that small carburator intake...OK, more work to do.
And do I put the NX79123 registration on the tail, for the modern warbird, or do you want to pretend you are Robin Olds shooting down Germans in WWII (in which case I may need to rough it up a bit?)?
Any (other) suggestions?

I like the idea of the modern warbird look personally

Duxford indeed!
Scat is nearly finished, all that I can see that still needs to be done is the inboard mirror patches. This weekend, I hope...

OK, now with mirrors:

on the ground:

in the air:

from the cockpit:

one final question: the underwing pylons (for bombs and tanks): the warbird doesn't have them, the original (probably) did: do I leave them bare metal (as they are now) or paint them grey??

That is just an Incredible repaint for an Incredible aircraft!! The Authenticity is simply out of this world. It is such a terrific Model, and this scheme takes it to a completely new level. Thank You for this most wonderful work!!
