P-47 at Saipan?

Part of my CVE campaign involves the launch of P-47's from CVE's to land on recently captured Aslito Airfield.May included a CAS mission or two before wrapping up the Saipan portion of campaign. Which version of the P-47 is most appropriate to use? I am guessing D models with bubble top.I am more asking what is the best model available for CFS 2 to use for June 1944.I have the P-47 D-25 and planned to use that.Best one? Thanks.

You might look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/318th_Fighter_Group

And this: http://www.combatreform.org/p47catshotfromcarrier.jpg

And this: https://www.google.com/search?q=p-4...SJhHjz5FM:&usg=__Q8pRyaBN07e5N6HIQOqAazN6Orc=

Photos I have seen had a combination of Razorbacks and Bubble Canopy. Depending on the Month of the photos, some of those could have been "N" Thunderbolts.

The first P-47-25 where just making it into combat by May 1944. So it looks to be vary likely that your missions will only be using the older Razorbacks. I looked into this when I first started working in the P-47D-25 years ago. During my looking around I found this page all those years ago http://home.earthlink.net/~atdouble/~318thFighterGroup.Saipan.html

On the page is a shot of all of the P-47s setting on the carrier before launch and they are Razorbacks

The Info I have say that the first P-47N didn't come off the line tell Sept 1944 and only 24 where made for all of 1944.

Thanks guys.I went with the P47D razor back.Much of my source for my CVE campaign is from the book "The Little Giants" and it had the picture, once looked closely saw they did not have the bubbletops.

The K. Malinowski km_P-47_pack_1-3_DT.zip has the Miss Mary Lou that was on Saipan. However it looks like we do NOT have any of the K. Malinowski P-47s on site. I checked the whole US aircraft part of the Library and didn't find it but knew simviation has it.

Rami can you double check to see if we do have the K. Malinowski P-47 here? Maybe I'm having a brain fart and didn't see them.

Allen,
I am not Rami, but you are correct. We have only skins for his P-47s. All of his P-47s are on Simviation.

Rami,
NMG did do a skin for one in our library. (See my PM to you).

Allen,

We don't have any of the K. Malinowski P-47s here.

Devildog73 - I took care of the emails in the archive. The username "NMG" is a catch-all for anyone who is no longer a present member of SOH. It's short for "non-member group."

Found this over at Simviation. This may be the one you want. Search, P-47D, on page 7 third from the bottom, "Numbers One, Two and Three.......".

I'm sure at one time we did have all of the K. Malinowski P-47s. They are textures/skins that say the P-47s are here and at simviation. I'm thinking they have gotten lost during the Library re-load project a few years ago.

If it is already can I upload them here again?
