P-47B/C GUNSIGHT PROBLEM....i

..Hello folks, have a small problem here.
I have the Thornson P-40b/c planes in the hangers but have a problem with the gunsights. It seems no matter what I have tried from the "Aim-it" utility the fiddling with the "X & Y axis" has led me further off the mark and "NO JOY!" .
Does anyone have a corrected gunsight for these planes?
As it is now I seem to be able to hit with the target placed at the top extended up part of the cross-hair. But NO WHERE what I want.

Title and topic do not match.

Don't have the Thornson P-40b/c but are the sights off set or set too low or hight?

Fibber,
Try this:

Open in the panel folder the panel.cfg with notepad.
Find at the very top of the file [VIEWS].
If you don't have [VIEWS] insert the following lines.

[VIEWS]
VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=%window_title_00%
VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=2.6,0.0,0.0

The 2.6 is the figure you want to play with. Increase it (2.7 or 2.8)
will raise your stream of bullets. Lower it and the stream goes down.

If you have already [VIEWS] insert the two lines on top of the views.
Write carefully, because the addition is case sensitive.

This usually works for me.

Bub is 100% right for vertical adjustments. You have to try it each time you make the adjustments and don't forget to delete the plane's .cdp eah time you make the modification. :wiggle:

BUB....

THANKS!!!:wavey::jump: That was the problem , I did not know where to even start looking. When I opened up the panel config the {VIEWS] was there but the numbers you indicated started at 6.9 ! Lowered it to 2.0 and it became spot on!!!
Thanks again!:encouragement:

..didn't realize till just a little while ago what you meant. The title should have been "P-40 B-C...." Don't know why it came out P-47 . That appears to be a typo error and bad smudges on my glasses!

Fibber,
Glad that worked out for you. I always keep the setting about 2.5. It seems to help with me with aiming. The bullet stream is just a smidge above the center line on the sights. One thing I have noticed, this setting doesn't always line up with the sights when using the VC cockpit. Other than that, glad I could help.

I think that is why we love this place so much....
Ask and everyone does their best to assist.........

To bad it is not like that everywhere.
