P-63C Kingcobra - P-63C Kingcobra

Bell P-63C Kingcobra
Unit: 16th GvIAP VVS Siberia/Mongolia

Bell designed the P-63 with the intention of improving the high altitude performance failure of the P-39 Airacobra. Although similar looking, the P-63 was a totally new aircraft; being larger with a laminer flow wing, supercharging, etc. Despite its improvements, the P-63 never lived up to the level of the P-51, Corsair, or other late-war front line fighters. The P-63 never saw combat in USAAF squadrons. Some 76% of the 3300 planes...

Well Capt. You certainly sneaked these two wonderful Kingcobras in on us. Thank you very much! This fills a very large whole in my hanger. The only other from scratch CFS2 Kingcobra that I am aware of is Piglet's P-63A. I will not say that his work was in any shape not wonderful, because it certainly reflects a time when building aircraft for CFS2 was very new, and not all of the ins and outs were known. His P-40Q still have a very special place in my collection.

With that said, your Kingcobras though blow anything else away. The attention to detail that you pay between the two variants is appreciated. I particularly like their squirrely handling. They feel like heavy machines. I have the 63A setup in my CBI/Aleutians installed, and the 63C of course in my Ost-Front.
