P3 pics... no combat report... WARNING... NOT FOR THE 'KRUMPET MENACE'!!! LOL!

Here are some snaps from me testing the new Fokker D.VII wings Terry made. I hated mine, so I used his and man, what a differerance.

I hope you enjoy. Bare in mind that my PC is low-end compared to Polovski's so the shots are what they are... BUT... as you can see, even with a low-end set-up, P3 offers plenty to drool over for any user. It's very well made, and you can beat-up CFS3 all you want, but it handles everything we throw at it. Which is all your advantage, especially in these tight economic times... you don't HAVE to upgrade your PC to fly it... you only have to upgrade if you want to blow a hole in your pocket. LOL!

Hang in there.. we're on the bus, and heading to you!! :)

I know it looks like I am showcasing my skins, but I'm not. Note the insanely beautiful scenery all around the plane and how it blends in. Especially the Spads. When you turn off the labels... it's VERY difficult to stay focused on the target, and you get confused real fast.

The boys all did a great job on this game. Even Beta testing it has really given me a whole new eye-opening experience into what life as a WWI pilot must have been like.

Considering many of the dogfights took place close to the ground, you really needed eyes of an eagle just to distinguish between the enemy and a tree.

Soooo that's a peek at the new ( F5) gauges, they Are smaller, BUT the speedo still reads 400mph. Is the TAC an attempt at a clock ?

Looks like I'll keep ( Z ) up, and dump the gauges, like now

Definately High Marks on the scenery

Enough Beaching for Awhile . . Thanks :costumes:

If that's lowres, I can't wait to see hires! Just upgrading my machine made P2 more difficult (I've been getting my butt shot off on a regular basis) when I do get my mitts on P3, the first thing I'll need to do is enlist a whole JG of pilots! That way I can fly for at least a couple of hours. Looks great, can't wait! Well, I'll have to, but under dire protest!:icon_lol:

Gimp ... of all the things in those photos... you HAD to pick that...!!! :banghead:

Don't worry... P3 will keep you so occupied during combat that you won't have time to look at how fast you're going.... until you get shot down and are screaming towards the earth... then maybe you'll see it hit 400mph. ;)

NAH . . when I'm shot to ribbons and going down now, chances are very good my engine isn't running. A full power dive in an SE5 from 15,000 never exceeds 285mph, I've Tried

I always throw the gauges over the side anyway

And utilize "Z" for my accent angle, and my timer. Any other benifits are optional.

I like that the printed part of the HUD, has become smaller, therefore less noticeable

For my personal needs, the TAC could've shrunk, but you can't have everything.

Picky - Picky - Picky :costumes::costumes::costumes:

The TAC 'clock' is meant to represent EA o'clock position relative to your aircraft nose. That's all.

oh how i love

blue target's!!:d
we are getting a lesson on learning how to wait:costumes:and by the look of things were getting mighty close.

Here's some good news for everyone. A close friend of mine who writes reviews for a very well known flightsim website is going to be writing a review of Over Flanders Fields Phase 3. He has been testing P2 to get a feel for it. I'm sure we'll all glad that P3is at such a stage that it can be being put out for a third party review.

Phase 3 is going to be reviewed

I think this item of news needs its own
thread.

Great post! And thanks for letting us see how great P3 will look for those of us who may not be able to upgrade in time. Outstanding work.

For those who can't upgrade, don't sweat it. There are times my PC bogs, but I think if I simply clean it out and reload XP, OFF will really smoke at the settings I have it... and still get plenty of effects and scenery to keep me drooling.

WM did a great job of balancing the more important aspects, and making it very user friendly for those of us who don't own Fort Knox to dump into a PC.

Just a note those are also in 16 bit mode rather than 32bit so still looks good :).

One thing I have to correct, you are not just blowing cash to upgrade ;) don't fool yourself, it WILL make a BIG difference to your experience, however you can still get a good experience on a lower machine as James points out :)

Yes... please don't think it's not worth it to put money into a new rig... don't get me wrong. From what I've seen from Pol's pics in emails and on the forum, it's a very good investment as far as OFF is concerned. I looks like a damn movie at high-res settings.

I'm more or less pointing it out not to be afraid to buy it thinking you're not going to be able to play it. You will. My rig is old now, and full of a lot of crap. Yet, P3 runs very smooth, even toned down it looks better than I ever expected.
