A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Warbird repaints

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47A-20-DL c/n 9586 42-23424/A65-9 in the colors it wore when flying with RAAF 345 Sqn in Tarakan during 1945. After the war, it first flew with Qantas as VH-EAM, before being passed to several other owners in Australia and New Zealand. It flew with Classic Wings as VH-CWS from Jandakot until 2009 when it departed for Bankstown, NSW, where it was offered for sale in 2012. I do not know its current status.

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47A-20-DL c/n 9592 42-23730/A65-12 in the colors it wore when flying with RAAF 345 Sqn in Tarakan during 1945. It later became VH-TAN with TAA and finished its flying career in PNG as VH-MAS in the late '60s.

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47A 42-100721 'the Hiawatha', which carried the call sign VH-CFQ when flying for the 41st TCS/317th TCG in New Guinea in early 1944.

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of 43-15073 Snafu Special. A WWII veteran that took part in the Normany landings, and can currently be seen at the Merville Battery in Normandy. MOre information can be found here: http://www.the-snafu-special.com/index.php.

Douglas C-47 Rijksluchtvaartdienst.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Civilian aircraft

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of PH-PBA. It was built as c/n 19434 and went to the 8th Air Force as 42-100971. She served among other during Operation Market Garden. After the war, she was obtained by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands and registered as PH-PBA in 1946. In 1947, the Rijksluchtvaartdienst (RLD, Civil Aviation Authoroties) took her on charge, and from then on she served as the first Dutch Government aircraft, used mainly to fly the Dutch Royal family, often with Prince Bernhard as pilot. In 1961 she was replaced by a Fokker F-27, but continued to be used by the RLD, in the paint scheme presented here. In 1975, she was transferred to the Aviodome museum at Schiphol airport, where she stood outside for 20 years. Prince Bernhard always lobbied for a return to airworthiness for PH-PBA, and in 1995 she reappeared on the Dutch register. She is currently flying with the Dutch Dakota Association, in a combined KLM - Air France paint scheme.

Douglas C-47 Papua New Guinea Defence Force.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - General Military repaints

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47B-30-DK c/n# 32877 44-76545 of the PNGDF. It was built by Douglas and went to the RAAF in april 1945 as A65-84. It flew with 2 ATU with call sign VH-HJM and was later assigned to 34 squadron. After the war, it remained with the RAAF until 1975, when it was one of seven C-47's that were donated to the Papua New Guinea's Defence Force, where it was assigned the serial P2-002. It flew with the PNGDF until the late 1980's, when all C-47's were phased out. The aircraft was retained for display, and can currently been seen standing on pylons at Jackson Airport.

Douglas C-47 RAAF ARDU.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - General Military repaints

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of A65-78 of the RAAF. Built as C-47B-25-DK 44-76345, it went to the RAAF in 1945, and was the first allied aircraft to fly into Hiroshima after the atomic bombing. It went to the ARDU in 1956 and was withdrwan from operational use in 1999. It is currently in the RAAF Museum in Point Cook.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Civilian repaints

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of VH-EBU (cn 12187), which was built as C-47A 42-92392 but passed to the RAF as FZ631. Bought by Qantas in 1949 as VH-EAN, later VH-EBF and VH-EBU. Sold to Trans Australian as VH-SBD in 1960. Latterly VH-BPA but broken up at Cairns in 2009 because of corrosion.

Douglas C-47 NZNAC ZK-AQS.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Civilian repaints

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of ZK-AQS of the NZNAC. This was an ex USAAF C-47B-25-DK, 44-76363, that went to the RNZAF in 1945 as NZ3535 and in 1947 to the NZNAC, named Purourou. After it was withdrawn from NZNAC service in 1966 it went to Australian Aircraft Sales, and was sold to Far East Air Transport (FAT) in Taiwan in 1968 as B-255. Its ultimate fate is unknown.

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47B 79001 of the Swedish Air Force that was at the start of the Catalina affair (Swedish: Catalinaaffären), a military confrontation and Cold War-era diplomatic crisis in June 1952, in which Soviet fighter jets shot down two Swedish aircraft over international waters in the Baltic Sea. The first aircraft to be shot down was an unarmed Swedish Air Force Tp 79, a derivative of the Douglas DC-3, carrying out radio and radar signals intelligence-gathering for the National Defence Radio Establishment. None of the crew of eight was rescued. The second aircraft to be shot down was a Swedish Air Force Tp 47, a Catalina flying boat, involved in the search and rescue operation for the missing DC-3. The Catalina's crew of five was saved. The Soviet Union publicly denied involvement until its dissolution in 1991. The aircraft was manufactured in 1943 with original US serial number 42-5694, and was delivered to USAAF 15th Troop Carrier Squadron (61st Troop Carrier Group). It saw action in northern Africa before being stationed at RAF Barkston Heath. On June 13, 1952, it disappeared east of the isle of Gotska Sandön while carrying out signals intelligence-gathering operations for the Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment. Both aircraft were located in 2003, and the DC-3 was salvaged, and the wreckage is currently on display in the Swedish Air Force Museum near Linköping.

Douglas C-47 General Erection Co.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Civilian repaints

Description: This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of ZS-IPX of the General Erection Co of South Africa. It was built as c/n 26439 (43-49178), but went to the SAAF as 6849. After the war, it flew in South Africa and Botswana with several owners, and was converted to a turboprop. It was exported to the US and sold to Venezuela in 2008.
