P3D v4.5 North American F-86 E/F Sabre

I know that payware prices have skyrocketed and lots of work goes into them. No one is going to become a millionaire from programming a aircraft but give us a break. Many of us seniors are living on SS and can not afford $45 to 100 to spend on addons. I can’t do anything but drool over some new releases and i refuse to go the pirate way.

has anyone done a study of the economics of scale for these things (lower price means more sales means more overall profit)? I wonder how many sales were made when they were placed on sale over the holidays?

I can't give the actual numbers that I have seen, but I can say that for the most part the demand wouldn't increase sufficiently to justify the lowering of the prices. Its rare for a dev to even break even. You got me curious though....how much do you seniors usually have to save for when you really want something? It may be kinda harsh coming from a youngling like myself but given how our wise greybeards always advised us to save up (and I say this with deep respect for it is indeed wise counsel) for when we wanted something that we couldn't immediately purchase, is it feasible for us to return the favour?

Naruto-kun (and others) - I enter this conversation reluctantly, but since you asked about how Milviz might help, I will respond. I participated in the T-38C development by paying my $25 "advance fee". This process seemed to be a "work for discount" scheme and I enjoyed it. I hope Milviz does something like that again.

My view about the cost / value of various add-ons (aircraft, scenery, utilities, etc.) is if you want it, you will find a way to acquire it (i.e., save the funds needed) . The artists, programmers, etc., deserve to make a living and will not provide those awesome add-ons if they can't. They will go to "greener pastures". I support deserving add-ons and own many. My sim experience today is fantastic and I'm "blown away" by the stuff that is available. Keep up the good work!

So, Milviz...do more $25 "advance fee" developments, I'm in as long as the weather in MN is cold and snowy!

Please don't insult my intelligence Mr. Javis.

Then please call on your intelligence and do not make false statements in a public forum anymore.

Btw, thank you for the kudos about our F-86 model, much appreciated, but it still is a native FS9 model that comes out crippled in P3Dv4, one way or another.

cheers,
jan

Did you just accuse me of lying?

Objective proof please. Or an apology.

Thank you.

Like everybody, I can have an opinion and voice it. Most constitutions ensure that exact same right.

Just to get this straight:
So the person who claims a constitutional right to have an opinion and uses it to accuse others of 'selling out' , or of being part of a 'payware mafia' now demands an apology about someone else's opinion?

Can someone please stop this thread? Too much like modern politics for me

I did not accuse people of selling out or being part of the payware maffia, my exact words were "because he doesn't want to annoy the payware maffia". (copy paste of the post)

And Javis did accuse me of lying. His words: "do not make false statements in a public forum anymore". I did not make false statements. I voiced an opinion...

Jan,
Enough already!
Opinions are opinions and that's fine.
Pointless pissing contests are not.
Insulting one of our respected 'retired' developers will get this thread locked if this continues.
