Are the pactex files in existence still?I think there were about 7 of them altogether..1-5 and 2a-2d, if my memory servs...
 
Well, the otehr day flightsim.com had all of them and now they don't. I wrote them and asked what the deal is. I have 1-3
but am missing 4 and 5 and all the 2a-2d ones. The link that Chris had led to flt sim .com and that's whats goin on there...

Let's give Rami a chance to decompress after his flight home - I'll bet HE knows where they're hiding.

I have PacTex-1, all of the 2 set, 3 and 4 but no 5.... And Finding THAT would complete my library kit.

I have all the PacTec files plus a special set modded from Pen32win's instructions.
I call it AF_PacTec.

And thank you profusely.....and thank you SDC for offering ,too. I sent a email to fsim.com....I received an authentication email back...I clicked on the link and replied that yes I was indeed a real human and not spam..this morn, i got an email saying" could I be a little more specific." In my first email I had said i was looking for pactex.zip 1-5 and 2a-2d.....in my reply to the last one I said "they are texture files."

I am still waiting for the next round. I just saw them there the other day.....Maybe the guy wasn't born when they came out, lol. And if he's around here, I hope he has a sense of humor.

Rami..that link only has three of the files. Flightsim.com has them back up but you they're scattered in the misc section so the easiest way to get them is to
use the search and name them by file name one at a time.
 
Back in the basement...is that where this is,lol? I'm digging it..there's something very satisfying about cfs2 that the other sims don't quite get. I really dug cfs3 and the addons but I really like having the entire planet to fool around in. Ity's nice seein' some old familiar faces here, for sure. mid

You’re in Luck today Middle, I found my notes in the first pass.

Listed below are the textures that I replaced. The first number is the series that was replaced. The second number is the series I used to replace it with, a copy of it that is.

Here’s how I did it to help prevent messing things up. Before starting back up your files.
1. Delete the series (There are 7 files in each series) that you want to replace.
2. Copy the series that is going to replace them and paste them in an empty folder.
3. Rename the files you just copied to the same names as the file deleted in Step 1.
4. Move the files you just renamed back into your scendb/wolrd/texture folder.
So if you’re going to replace series 006H2SU1 thru 7 with series 066H2SU1 thru 7 you would first delete 006H2SU1 thru 7. Then copy 066H2SU1 thru 7 to the empty folder and then rename them to 006H2SU1 thru 7. Then move the new files back into to the world texture folder.

The list:

006h2su1-7 replace with copies of 066h2su1-7
011h2su1-7 replace with copies of 025h2su1-7
027b2su1-7 replace with copies of 022b2su1-7
052h2su1-7 replace with copies of 019h2su1-7
063h2su1-7 replace with copies of 018b2su1-7
031h2su1-7 replace with copies of 031b2su1-7 (better city textures)
064h2su1-7 replace with copies of 047h2su1-7

Make these changes and PacTex2 becomes very different. Very nice for the PTO. It makes your jungle areas jungles but they are not mono-texture looking. Here’s a screen shot of Guadalcanal looking west. Henderson field is to my left. I hope you enjoy the look it gives CFS2. I really do.
