Requesting a repaint for the MSFS-2024 HU-16

A great paint for one of my favourite MSFS24 aircraft.
I was in the Navy stationed NAS Cubi Point Phillipines back in '67- '69 and this was one of the station aircraft. I use to load JATO bottles on this very
aircraft and watch it do JATO take offs in Subic Bay. NAS Cubi Point closed in Nov 1992 and is now Subic Bay International airport.

Very interesting! I sailed past that area numerous times, north and southbound, in the 1980s.

There is no doubt that JanKees has done the paint scheme justice, and it will bring back memories for you. Mike Johnson has done a wonderful job with the Albatross; no matter what add-ons come along, it is still an aircraft I return to regularly. Bags of character, all the details perfected, and you can go anywhere in it. Comprehensive paint kit too - I might dabble.

Were you there as well back then? I love that museum. I'd say it is the best of the AF museums I have visited: Singapore (a close second!), Taiwan, and Switzerland. And no, I've not visited the USAF museum....but I ought to.
Try the Naval Air Museum at NAS Pensacola, there is an F-8C Crusader (VF-24) there that I use to load 20MM and other ordnance on back in 65/67
time frame.

No rush Jan. and if you get bored... :giggle: If you feel any USCG vibes... one of those would be most welcome. Edit: modern Red/White scheme

Yep, I took the train up while my son and his mom explored Rome. Sooo worth the trip, and saw so many amazing planes.

Haven’t been to the USAF Museum since I was a kid in the 70’s. Definitely will return if life ever takes me near Ohio.

Headed to another winner, Seattle’s Museum of Flight, for an aviation collectibles show this morning!

We now return you to the Hu-16. :)

And they have the have (or had) the cutest little cat roving the grounds back in late 2023...named "Peoples". I absolutely LOVED getting to see the HU-16, F-104, G-91, and Stoof.

May I please request this one from Argentina, JanKees - if you're not too busy, of course. Looks rather nice!

The roundel above is the sharpest I can find, but strictly speaking, it should have a rope attached to the head of the anchor. A small detail, I think.

JK manages to do it AGAIN-- put out my 2nd favorite HU-16 scheme: RoNAF. Now if we only had a true SHU-16 variant with the bulbous nose...My last big "bucket list" repaint for this bird is a late 50s/early 60s USAF variant with dayglo and yellow panels.

Kent

P.S. I wouldn't turn down a Spanish AF variant, either!

I'm in the field with 70 students next week, but after that, who knows...

Btw, I asked Michael for the bulbous nose ( there's an update coming), but alas, he thinks it's too ugly.
