Panel assistance needed!

Does anyone have this problem? : With models without a virtual panel, we often use the "Fixed Windows" option in the panel.cfg. However after I swicthed to a widescreen panel i get a black screen when using these views. I discovered that CFS2 dont like the old 1024x768 bitmaps for fixed window views. If i change them to 1680x1050 bitmaps, everything is okay. I hope there's a setting somewhere to fix this. If not, all my old 1024 bitmaps must be reworked :blind:

All "Fixed Windows" with 1024x768 bitmaps do not work on Windows 7. Resizing the bitmap to 640x480, 800x600 or 1280x720 will let the panel work on Windows 7.

As of now there are no other ways to fix this.

Exactly as you say, Morton -

I get the "spinning black circle of death" icon (mouse wait icon) with 1024 .BMPs. IIRC, a lot of your panels included 640x480 resolutions, I just needed to tell the panel.cfg file to use them. I wasn't aware that higher resolutions would also work. Win7 just doesn't "do" 1024x768 panel backgrounds.

I got caught with a similar thing.....found a way to run CFS2 at 4:3 resolution on my screen, and I've stuck with that...works fine.
