"Introducing the Panther Award"

Those of you who have been around the Sim-Outhouse for some time will remember that the word “Panther” became a verb around here, as in “I Panthered again”. It means to “crash in spectacular fashion”, and was named after our esteemed administrator of the same name, because he did it so often, and posted great screen shots to prove it. In that spirit, we will hold a contest for the best “Panther!” Post pictures and write ups of your most creative/stupid crashes. The write up creativity will be a factor in determining the winner! At the end of the year the SOH Staff will nominate candidates for the award. The winners will get a prize, which is still TBA.
 
...well, it´s not a very good picture, and not a very creative crash; the most stupid thing about it was that I let those Oscars get on my tail.. they shot up my engine, which started to burn.. and I happened to be more or less lined up with the runway at Palembang, so decided that maybe the best option was to put it down on the airfield... unfortunately the right gear didn´t extend, and this is what happened: (I did survive it, by the way)

Hey guys,

This may not technically be "Panthering," but I'm not gonna last long after this Lae strike!
 
Don't feel bad Rams, I have crashed P-40s and P-38s in spectacular fashion at Lae, several times! Nice thing about Lightnings is two engines. UNLESS, you get both of them on fire at the same time! Those Japanese gunners at Lae are pretty good shots!
