Partial Engine Failure in a P-51

Interesting discussion from pilot Mark Levy and video footage from the cockpit of P-51D 'Miss Velma' that suffered partial engine failure at last years Flying Legends airshow, resulting in an off field forced landing.

As someone who witnessed it, it was fascinating to see the cockpit footage, and hear Mark talk about how his mind worked during the incident.

Excellent vid and plenty of lessons to take away from as a hopeful future warbird pilot. I also do the basics (stalls, slow flight, sim eng out) with upper air work if I haven’t flown GA in a awhile or switch between high/low wing in my rental fleet.
