It takes some work but you can do it. Make sure you wrap the hull points up the nose or it will explode easily on landing.

You can also look at the MAW Walrus which also has gear.

You also need to play with the

Static Compression
Max/Static Compression Ratio
Damping Ratio

For each contact point

0.51, 2.5, 0.65 Float tip out of the water
0.2, 2.5, 0.65 Front water point
1.21, 2.5, 0.25 Middle Water point
0.4, 2.5, 0.65 Aft water point

Once you get these in you'll need to adjust the vertical of the contact points to get it to float right. Make sure the front out of the water point is much higher than the front water point and makes less than a 45 deg angle from that point.

:wavey:

I have her landing on good ole dry land and the wet stuff too. The issue I ran into (Sunderland too) is that once at rest in the water all they do is sit there and won't budge at all. I tried increasing the climb rate and reduced the weight some but no luck yet.

I have two hull contact points, maybe three will help? I'll see. It is fun flying around at 98 knots and trolling the deep blue .....

I worked on the air and cfg files for the Duck with Mike (stumpjumper) and Dave (dave Dangerous Boyntyon).

If I can find it I even have video of the duck landing on water, lowering gear and proceding on to dry land.

If Mike and Dave are OK with this I can let you have copies of the files if you need them.
no problems from me

A Walrus!!!! Oh my goodness!! what a beautiful sight. Thankyou Mathias :engel016:for making this available and Ted:engel016: for finishing it. :applause::applause::applause:

There once was an ugly duckling

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, no doubt; some aircraft are just plain interesting, despite their looks!

Ted, if you want anything on the Walrus, give me a yell. There was one at Yeovilton as well as the other stuff I've sent in the past. :wavey:

Had this issue with the Duck aswell. One I never fully resolved.

You can however after coming to a full stop restart!

Simply shut down the engines and then restart them. Apply power slowly and take off.

ted when i was setting up the kate on a carrier deck.after getting the contact points set. it would drop the tail without brakes on.it would stick in place for a second or so and then explode.i raised the static center of gravity higher into the plane. that stoped the drop, stick, explode.have you tried playing with that number?

The problem is with the FM. I think I solved this with the 4.0 FM's. Been a while, can't remember. Do the MAW float planes have the same problems? Ju52, Swordfish.....
