After an all night Poker game at Wheeler George Welch and Ken Taylor start to go back to barracks when the Japanese attack. They jump into a car and head for Haleiwa, about a 10 minute drive, being straffed along the way. Their planes are warmed up and ready to go. The rest is history. Recommended for the Medal of Honor but turned down because they tookoff without orders.
