Piaggio PD-808 by Mario Noriega released at avsim!

Instead of moaning around you guys could try to drop Mario an email and politely ask him for a 100% native FSX model...

But that's too hard, isn't it?

I agree with you, moaning and crying about "Freeware" is very rude and defenitly showing a lack of tact and education.......:toilet: a simple note to the author is the correct way to go about "complaining" if that is what someone wants . ( Its Free!!!!!). If someone "gives someone else something for free" usually one thanks for it.....(?)

Yes - as one of the most frequent "moaners" (critiques) of payware products even I would agree that complaining about freeware products is not really that polite.

I admire anyone who is willing to share their work for free - including the repainters.

Now - what new payware can i growl about!?

ALL developers, freeware and payware, need to stop labeling non-FSX models as being FSX. Places like Avsim and FlightSim should have a portover section and a true FSX section.

I think a requirement to label aircraft correctly in the file description would be enough.

What's worse is when payware developers make portovers and label them as being FSX. That's false advertising. Things should be clearly labeled when you buy them.

I totally agree when it comes to payware. Those guys are charging money for their work after all...

simply saying it kills your FPS is hardly moaning guys.....

It's not what has been said, it's the way it has been said!

I, as a very small fish in the freeware development pond, can take even harsh criticism easily, but only if it's spoken out in a civilised way.

Daube, can you isolate the problematic gauge?

For those folks who are using port-overs in their FSX installation: convert the textures to the .dds format. The framerate will improve a bit.

Hi guys...

If I were a payware guy, I may have the money to buy a new system and run FS-X enough to see all the reflections, bump maps and stuff that uses to kill most hardware ... and since I'm stuck running FS-9 adn FS-X Demo version only for test proposes, I have no way to properly test FS-X models If I tried to make them ... For the moment, you may only get FS-9 planes from me, plus FS-X portovers, that in some case deserve some work to ensure all the gauges and stuff work fine ...
You may as well convert textures to .dds, and make them work in DX10 too...
I have no FS-X SDK here with me actually ...
Please enjoy the aircraft as-is... or remove it from your disk ... I appreciate the feedback ...

Thanks for the response, Mario. I respect your situation of not being able to run FSX, I just wish all developers, not just you, and not just freeware devs, would agree on some standard concerning compatibility and stick with it.

I will be checking out your new plane in FS9 as I am stuck with it until mid next week when I build my new computer. I nuked my beloved FSX last night:faint:

I enjoy flying the plane with the 2D cockpit in FSX...Thanks for all of your hard work Mario; It's a cool plane...

Hi guys,

I'm in Southern Germany right now :Banane49::icon29::typing:....studying, with a quite narrow band internet connection.

First of all: The PD808 is much appreciated. Have not dl-ed it (for above mentioned reasons, and therefore, i'm not behind my FSX puter monster), but i really like the PD808 as an airplane. So..Great job in advance! :welcome:

Second: Since i have not downloaded it yet........can we finally have some screenshots' here?????? (unless they are already in here, it could be that due to the slow connection they don't display).

Third: it is seldom i saw a discussion with more then one page regarding one particular plane without screenshots! :isadizzy:(again, if they are in here, either the internet connection or me is/looks silly).

Ciao Mario, Billissimo il Piaggio, grazie per il gran laboro.....a dopo.:woot:Lei sono Italiano?
ha visto Spagnolo in la documentazione.

Looks like it would be a fantastic addon in FS9 but it's unflyable due to low FPS in FSX (mostly in the VC, I go from 50 fps default CRJ to 10 FPS with the PD808)

Thank you for this plane, I have used the FS2004 version since it came out. IMO it is worth reviving your FS9 if you have FSX issues with it, it's such a cool plane!
