Piedmont Repaint JF F-27

I am very grateful to the repainter who made this beautiful paint for the F-27. Brings back many memories of a time (the best of times) long past.... The paint is over at Avsim now.

Looking Great Storm , I've noticed a lot off great paints coming out for the Fokker, Markus aka has done four different New Zealand schemes but not released yet , I've started a couple, It's great model :encouragement:
 
I know I loaded baggage into that very same aircraft in the fall of 1970. I worked for a short time as a ramp/ticket agent at Charlottesville (KCHO). Piedmont had F-27, 737 and YS-11s on the schedule then for CHO. I sort of remember that the F-27s flew to CHO from Charleston, WV (KCRW).

Awesome! Some of my family worked for the company on ramp at Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston and at the main office there. By chance do you remember meeting Captain's Ben Kennedy and Walter "Curly" Bowden?
 
how are the FPS in this plane vs the Metroliner..?

I can run the Razbam heavy twin but my PC is a pitiful I-5 machine...I'm curious to know if this plane is maybe a little less FPS intense
 
What a beautiful repaint! Piedmont always my favorite airlines and I flew many miles on them here in the "Good Ole South"
My wife and I were on a flight the last night of their operations and all passengers were given champagne. Several wet eyes among the flight attendants.
Some of us began flying with Piedmont when the DC-3 was their best plane.
 
I was on the ramp at ILM the day in 1989 that the last Piedmont flight came in and later departed. I heard the call over my handheld radio that the final flight was taxiing out. It all happened unceremoniously as the lone Piedmont marked 737-200 taxied past a Fokker 28 and 737-400 (which already had US Air markings painted over the partially stripped/faded Piedmont outline). We just stood and watched as the flight taxied out to runway 17 and went airborne. The tempo on the ramp continued...

I have the Metroliner as well and both it and the F-27 run smooth as silk.
