Piper sold to a group out of the country.

Well, I hope it is a good thing and that their future is good. Piper is part of the roots of America's General Aviation.

I don't think the fact that Imprimis is based outside the US is that important, since most major asset management firms own companies all over the world.

It makes since for Imprimis to buy something like Piper, since the only new market left for GA aircraft is in Asia, and Imprimis has the cash on hand to allow Piper to make inroads there.

Plus, it's not like US based asset management firms are inherently more competent than their foreign counterparts, since Cerberus bought both Chrysler and GMAC, and lost a fortune when both companies imploded.
