Piraeus airfield shore lines

SOH-CM-2023
I seem to have missed something in my MTO install. Most scenery seems okay but here is the problem:

Could someone advise?

Do you have all of Sander de Cocq"s EurW scenery installed? There should be four layers.

I moved Piraeus airfield to its correct location - the site of the old Athens airport. It was known as Kalamaki. If you decide to install it, you can still keep Achim's Piraeus as well, but I think it looks unrealistic cut into the hillside. I removed it.

I amended the Athens GSL, moving the Piraeus objects to Kalamaki. The old Athens GSL scenery, including Piraeus airfield, is contained within Achim's Greece GSL file.

Howdy KD. When I installed your Kalamaki, my MTO install keeps wanting to take me back to the Achim's Piraeus, even when I have removed the scenery associated files. How do I fix this? I also noticed that your Athens airport conflicts with some of TB's Athens eye candy. How can I also fix this? I appreciate your help.

Hi Browncoat,

Download JHS Greece and you will find the AFD files have been amalgamated into one file. Kalamaki's AFD entry is there.

Tobob only modified the coastline. Rami did all the city and port objects with the exception of the Acropolis which was done by Shessi.

Can you post a screenshot?

Thanks for reminding me about Tobob's coast. I should have mentioned that to Stoney. I can't find it in the library. It's possibly included in a download by someone else.

Here it is in any case.

Hello KD. Attached is a top down view of the south end of the airfield with buildings in the south departure flight path. I have not installed your athens coast file yet.

TB's Athens is within the Rami_GSL_Mediterranean_Ports file.

Thanks BC for the picture and the location of TB's file.

Did you install the amended Athens.GSL file I posted above? It should have moved the houses out of the way.

Good day KD. I did install the amended Athens.GSL file that you posted, and the screenshot above (numbeer 33) shows the after-result.

I also installed your Athens_Coast file and it has a better fit than the other file.

Hi BC, I'll have a look at that GSL file. I may have lost the newer version when I had a hard drive failure a couple of years ago.

It looks like you may have Rhurmba's Global Surface Water activated. The coastlines are accurate but there are no beaches nor river estuaries. They are also incompatible with all the coastal airfields and GSL scenery.

Try this one - like the previous file, it's all of Athens with the fictitious Piraeus airfield and its objects moved to Kalamaki. There are no houses in the middle of the field.

Hello KD,

I uninstalled your Athens GSL, and then installed your Athens_new GSL. I am still seeing the houses at the south end of the runway.

Hi BC,

I think you must have GSL scenery with an extra GOB area to the south of the aerodrome. I went through Achim's Greece GSL and the various versions of Rami's Med Ports but could not find an extra area containing houses.

The GSL which I posted contains the same GOB areas as the earlier versions. They should be overwritten by the new version.

Apart from the houses, is there more GSL scenery south of Kalamaki?

Here is my scenery.

I found the problem. There was originally another GOB area on the southern side of airfield. I found it in an earlier scenery package by Rami.

Here is yet another Athens GSL file which should fix the problem. 🤞
