Pitts S-1 Special by Addictive sim

This little aerobatic bird is intriguing. I haven't figured out why yet. I've come to realize that in the United Kingdom there is a bold statement on these fine particular aircraft. So that tells my fascination if any of you wondered. Germany has several descent schemes too. But nothing can compare to the boldness of the UK folks when it comes to showmanship in the air.

Superb work Oleboy :salute:

This one will be my last with lots of lines!

Thanks Gajit. I know what you mean. The aligning of everything can be a real headache. Especially the wheel pants. Too bad they could not have been mapped better.
....Your paints are coming along nicely. What's the next on on your to-do list of frustrations?..lol

I'm liking all these paints.......keep up the great work!! the more the better......at least until a certain RV comes out...lol...or Bearcat maybe.

Cleaner? I have been reducing the shadow and dirt to make it look cleaner - still some work to do - do you guys prefer this look?

Getting REAL close to completion

I set out to do adjustments and whatnot after my last post. Before I knew it I was tearing into the detail layer tweaking that too. I haven't touched the shadow layer much but, it is on the dark side of things.
.......I'm almost to the point of messing with the alpha layers to get that polished aluminum look. Then this one will be one hot chick.

What an ignoramous!!

I (after my 5th repaint...lol) just realized that my paints were missing bump and spec maps. I added them to all my paints, and what a difference :pop4:

I thnk the pilots are all to small - like (bald) kids flying a plane.

Repainting has GOT to be a Labor of...something.

Have fun!!

Oleboy - the file has been removed. Are you going to repost? This is so very similar to the colour scheme from Skip Volk's beautiful Chipmunk, isn't it? Perhaps you flew R/C and built the Sig kit? This was my all-time favorite livery for R/C aerobatic aircraft, and I would dearly love to have this Pitts as you have done it here. Sweet!

Edit: So I went looking on the weeeb and discovered it is from a genuine Pitts: I guess they used Skip's scheme. You've done a real nice job! Many thanks!

Is there any chance we could get a non bald male pilot? LOL! Looks like Mr. Clean flying this baby....
Can't remember who did this otherwise I'd give them credit, but ...

View attachment 16486

It has an alternate pilot with hair...

As for all the repaints WIP, they look great and thanks. Can I ask a favor and have these added to the SOH download library?? It's getting real dicey trying to keep up with everybody. :salute:

Thanks

Paul,

I apologize for the file being deleted. The reason I took it down was due to it not being completed the way I intended. Meaning, I was having troubles tracking everything down on the templates to paint it as it was in the RW. I've got everything sorted now and will be getting back to work on that scheme. I actually have five paints in progress. Four of those need to be gone through and finalized before I release them.
...If someone who downloaded it would like to repost here, that's fine by me.

As for the look of N614GT, it will be spot on to the best of my ability and the reference material I have. I went as far as sending an email to several different sources for different aircraft. Though I haven't heard anything as of yet. I'm hopeful.

Now to get down to the Skinnin room for some reading. I need to teach myself how to do polished aluminum.

I'll post more pictures as I progress.
