Pitts S-1 Special by Addictive sim

I have been away for a while, I came back and what I see. Many good looking repaints, good job all! How's that SP1? Is Pitts better now?

This is my process......

1. Extract the main texture folders to a temporary folder.
2. Open each with DXTBmp, and invert.
3. Extract the main texture to your paint editor program. (I use Paint Shop Pro 6 I got on eBay for $30.00 several years ago). Resize the bitmap to 1024 X 1024, SAVE IT, then import it back into DXTBMP. Don't save it yet.
4. Do the same for the Alpha layer. Extract, resize, SAVE IT and import back into DXTBmp.
5. Now save in DXT 3 format. The final size should be 1024 X 1024 in size.
6. Repeat this for the next two files. There are three in all.
7. Now copy the three converted files to a folder in teh aircraft folder with the proper texture.name.
8. Go to the main texture folder and copy those files to the new folder, being careful not to overwrite what you just edited.
9. Make your entry into your aircraft.cfg file.

This is the result and how it turned out for FS9.

The Breitling Angels are S2 style air frames. Oh well.

I had to resort in drawing all the "Angels" script by hand. I'm very pleased with it. Although it still needs a bit of adjusting here and there aesthetically.

I added G-REAP to my attempt-to-do list. Resource availability is limited, as I am already hand drawing several areas. With a little patience who knows.
.....Unless someone has pictures in their personal photo album somewhere, I think I've found most.

Better pictures would beneficial.

G-REAP carries a cool livery. I'm sure you've pic's from the usual places...how about this one too?

Got it thanks. That's one of the more blurry pictures I can use for eyeballing only. I sure would like to find some nice side shots. It would make sure make my labors less!!

While in search of the correct font for the GHOSTBUSTERS design, I came up empty handed as I expected. Even trying the attempt of a website that identifies fonts by picture. I made the attempt to cut letters from the sides and clean them up. Then uploaded them to see how close it could be matched. Doing anything by those means are always hit-n-miss. And, it was. As I expected. So I resorted in doing the mapping by the last three letters E--R--S to a grid that I built up for height, width and point spans throughout all the letters. After a while the end results came out to be this. I thought I would show everyone what it takes to do things by hand

WHO YA GONNA CALL??

GHOSTBUSTERS!!!

Lots of work yet to go on this one. But it is coming along very nicely. In-fact, a lot better expected then when I started.

Note: I deliberately posted low resolution screen shots. :icon_lol:

And one of the others I'm still working on. Believe it or not, the one below is a real world paint scheme. MAN, IS IT LOUD!! Can't miss it in the sky that's for sure!!

Gonna grab them both when finished! Cheers,Oleboy :salute:

Thanks KD. I need all the positive enthusiasm I can get :ernae:

Just for kicks and grins, the loud one is a U.S.A registered Pitts. Lets see if you can find it. It's not in the registry that I found. :isadizzy:

While browsing around the net I learned that Sibwings did a Pitts S1? That was news to me. Anyway, I was reading a topic about it and as I was scrolling I noticed that someone else also did G-REAP. Well, they tried. It was everything but authentic looking. The tail graphics weren't even the same. I bet no one else noticed that. But I did.
....That's when I set out to do it. And do it better.

I never could track the Sibwings G-REAP repaint. Did they even release it?

At any rate I spent the last few hours blending and enhancing the graphics on the tail. More like the real thing now.

OOPS!!! I just noticed the graphics on the right side are not invertably legible :173go1:

Here's a couple more shots.
