Engine start

Icarus,

Changing the starter torque value didn't help me. When I first load the plane the only way I can get it started is to do a Ctrl-E. I can then shut the engine down and restart with no problem using the starter switch. Then if I shut down FSX and restart, the problem is there again and I have to go the Ctrl-E process again. This is no real problem but it shouldn't be this way. It appears like it is not getting fuel. After starting with Ctrl-E I shut down, turned all of the switches off and then saved the flight. The next time I started FSX I loaded the saved flight and all started normally.

This is a wierd problem for me as no one else seems to have this problem.

Any more ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

that is very strange with the new torque setting should start immediatly...i suppose there are some settings in your fsx making the problem, are you using max realism or a payload fuel manager? or some other addons? recently i have also sent a review copy and this problems wasn't reported...also the other customers buying didnt report it....seems to me it's something related to your setting ...i will try if i can help you in some way.

perhaps i m near the problem...but you have this problem loading our flights and on free flight no or the inverse?

Engine start

Icarus,

Solved it. Didn't realize there were other panels associated with the program. Under panel views I found the pop up for the fuel selector and trim panel. I knew it had to be fuel but couldn't figure how to turn it on.

I may have missed it in the text files or some other instructions.

One other question. What is the toggle switch titled "Starter" for? It also won't stay in the start position.

Sorry for the confusion.

Tom

Well for me the fuel selector is on but on the Shift/5, Engine controls the mixture is at 0% by default. By pushing the knob to 100% the aircraft starts even with the short duration the Starter switch stays "On".

another skin's author has started some new skins for the pitts...expect to download many new skins for the pitts soon

Yeah, she's a maintenance officer in the USAF at Sheppard AFB. She's got a BIG attitude. She thinks she's really hot stuff. Maybe I'm just a little jealous that she is a sponsored airshow pilot and I'm not, but they can't all be as humble as Bob Hoover and some of the other greats.
