Plan-G v2.0 Out Now!

Haven't used Plan-G in a long time. . .it was always kinda quirky on my system. Sometimes it wouldn't display correctly and some menu items couldn't be accessed because of it, I'd have to restart several times before it would look right and other times, it had a terrible lag to it.

As soon as I can figure out why this install wants me to install .NET Framework 4.0, even though it is installed, I may give it another shot.:salute:
 
This is the best "flight follower" anywhere...get it you´ll love it like peanut butter!!!! a must and works just great, no way to get lost with this......you get many options on how to use it.:applause::applause::applause::applause:
 
Plan-G is great. You do need a fast computer to run it on, however. Takes forever to process the KML data for Google Maps. Thanks for the 2.0 heads up.

LOL....FSX needs it "Semper"!!!!!, I have just download it and should try it tonight, previous version run great on my stuff.....With it I have taken out the ridiculous compass and floating arrows from my missions except for those made for very amateur pilots.
 
I run it through simconnect on my laptop (1.6ghz C2D). Runs fine for flight following, great for flying in Tongass Fjords finding those draws and valleys in the A2A Cub.
 
Not working and not sure what to do with it if it did. When I start it up it asked me to build the data base. I click on the fsx icon and it opens a window and does something for about 10 seconds and then that it but if I close it down and reopen it again ask me to build data base. LOL

I haven't looked at Plan-G for a long time, but if it says it going to build the database you might want to be patient and let it build the database. There are 25,000+- airports, waypoints, VORs, NDBs, etc and unless you have a SuperCary 5000 computer giving it only 10 seconds before killing the application might be ill served. Start it, let it build it's databse and go get a nice cup of hot cocoa or some thing.

I had the same problem. I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit) and I have UAC turned on. (Yes, I know you can turn it off.) My solution was to move the whole Plan-G folder out of the C:\Program Files (x86) folder. Put it anywhere, so long as it's not under Program Files. Relaunch the program from your new location and run the database again. It will take much longer than 10 seconds this time! But when it's done, it should work.

IF it does nothing at that point, check on the flie section where you build the data base and where it says " Build Data Base" under the two FSX and FS9 Cans, there is a very little square on the right, press that and you will get the "FS File Locations" here you must tell it where your FSX program is and where the FSX Scenery .cfg file is...close it and press the FSX blue can, it should now build the data base with no problems but very slowly.......
 
I was never able to get the error message figured out (when I try to open Plan-G it insists that I must first install .NET Ver 4.0, which is already installed). I've used Plan-G in the past and never had this problem, but I have other programs that do the same thing that work fine, so it's outta here.:salute:

Note. There are two FSX icons, "FSX Data" and "FSX". You need to click on the third icon from the left (above "Build Database".
 
Final results of New Version on my PC.....After a smooth instalation and data base creation I reviewed the Menu panels, lots of new features from 1.9 which will have to cover slowly. After telling it which kind of airports I wanted it started populating the world, it took it about a minute to get set. Then I reviewd some airports in Bolivia, Panama, Argentina and Italy...nice, now ILS is indicated, and a very complete info on the whole airport.....placed FSX in La Paz and connected with Plan-G, as before this happens inmediatly and a sound let´s you know. Started the flight and the tracking went as always with a litle lag but not troublesome....what can I say except that Tim has again made a fantastic upgrade, this one very large. With Plan-G there is no way the VFR pilot can get lost and one learns a lot of the mountains, valleys, rivers of our planet....a great tool. Notice that the manual is huge!!!! good....:applause::applause::applause:

If the OP says it's a "must have", I'm not allowed to say I'll pass?

Also, my post also provided more than just a "no". The website/tool names I provided are really good if you're flight planning for flightlevels, speeds and distances greater than in Cessna Country.
