Planes not showing up

SOH-CM-2025
I'am sure this has been addersed before but not sure where to look ,but even though I use AC Man to reduce the number of planes,( I have it down to 88 in the sim,the others are in AC Mans hanger) I can't get planes to show in the sim. They show up in the aircraft list in Windows Explorer but not in the sim.
I just tried installeing Alphas Fury ,(the jet) and the missions show but not the plane. Is it possible I still have too many planes in the sim?I thought the number was somewhere around 90.
I tried a few others ,(taking out a few more to the AcMans hanger but no go. Thanks

Have you checked the sound and panel.cfg?

If you haven´t open them in notepad and look if the sound or panel configuration is not alliased to a plane that you don´t have in your CFS2\AIRCRAFT folder.

One of the most common reasons a plane does not shot up is the sound alias. Many planes are aliased to the stock Zero, Wildcat and P-38, George and Hellcat. If those planes are no longer in your Airplane folder, any plane aliased to one of those will not show up.

Another reason is that some add on planes will be aliased to something in the author's CFS 2, but which isn't in yours.

Check your Sound folder and the sound.cfg file. Open with either Notepad or Wordpad and look for:

[fltsim]
alias=A6M2_Zero\sound

Make sure the alias is something in your installation that has a full set of .wave files. You can't alias a sound file to an alias, just to a sound folder with a complete set of .wave files.

Thanks guys

Thanks for your fast reply guys. I never thought of the sound and/or panel cfg. needing to be alised from anohter plane, I'll give it a go.Thanks again

" just tried installeing Alphas Fury ,(the jet)" Five to one the jet is aliased to the Lear45jet sound and your setup doesn't have it! You need to find a jet sound or the lear45. jet souund. There is one available but I can't locate it right now.

what abut a Saber F-86?

I have the old addon from Justflight,Korean Combat Pilot, what about the sound from and F-86?

Another way to do it is to just copy and paste the complete sound folder from the aircraft of your choice into the aircraft folder that's not showing up. This uses a little more HD space, but you don't have to worry about a future removal of the 'aliased to' plane unintentionally making other planes that depend on it dissapear as well.

Like Jagdflieger alluded to, that can become somewhat of a mess.

"What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." (our computer):jump: My advice? Copy that F-=86 sound folder, throw it in the Fury's aircraft folder, overwrite, and go fly!

YESSSS!

You guys did it, I did a copy and paste of the sound file from the KCP F-86 to the Fury and it works! Thanks you guys so much!
