• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

PMDG 747 X at Best Buy

So I won't get any support if I bought it from Best Buy?!?!? :angryfir:
Pretty much what I found out after I bought my retail copy.

You can read what they say at the linked pages, but from what I understand, they aren't going to give you permission to ask questions on their forum unless you pay an additional yearly fee. From what it sounds like on their Company Info page, all their email support is, is just help regarding product activation.

That's a sh!tty way for them to be. Those who bought it should get product support regardless where it was purchased if they provide proof of purchase. VRS huh? That's that fancy jet isn't it? BooYa!!

Back on topic, I didn't know add-ons could be bought at Best Buy. They don't have but the three mentioned above (shrug)

This is false.

VRS still provides support, and you can e-mail them should you have an issue. You can even access the support forums. The only thing they do not give you is the ability to make a post.

Here is the skinny. The cost of the plane is higher online than in the store, and it went to stores long after it was downloadable. VRS wanted to come up with a way to make the online purchase more valuable to their customers.

VRS has always been one of the few to truly support their customer base. They may only have two products out currently, but they are superb add-ons and well worth supporting them directly by purchasing off their website. If you look through their forums, they have always listened to the customer requests and incorporated when possible.

I am certain once their TAC pack is released, they will again be top dogs within the FSX realm with great attention to detail and systems fidelity.
