Poll: Windows 10 and FSX fullscreen

Just to get more cohesive user input on this subject.


Core question:
1. Do menus work when running FSX in DX9 mode in fullscreen?

Supplemental questions:
2. Windows 10 architecture (32bit/64 bit)?
3. Upgrade type (carried everything over/carried limited amounts of data over/clean installation)?
4. Video card (AMD/NVidia/Intel or AMD Onboard)?
5. Video card driver (from Windows update/from GPU manufacturer) (and version)?
6. FSX edition (SP2/Acceleration/Steam)?


Menus apparently work when running in DX10, although they are a bit sluggish to appear. So no need to reply if you run DX10.

Using windowed mode in FSX and P3D for now. (P3D works full screen)

Shucks! A poll I cannot take part in 'cos I am too chicken to risk W10. Anyhoo MS have not deemed me valuable enough yet to offer the download thus far. :biggrin-new:
 
Perhaps someone could clarify poll question #3 - Upgrade type (carried everything over/carried limited amounts of data over/clean installation)?

Saying "carried everything over", what does that mean? When I updated from Win 8.0 to 8.1, there was no copying or change in the basic directories containing data (such as FSX). I had backups, but never needed them. The update just updated the OS.

The question implies that a mirror copy of the HD or key data was prepared as part of the update to an existing OS. Does it really mean that no data (or exiting programs) were lost?

Hope I didn't derail the poll, as I'm interested in the results.

The observation so far:
- Sometimes, DX9 fullscreen menus work, sometimes they don't
- The OS edition does not matter
- The upgrade method does not matter
- Driver version does not matter
- The FSX edition seems to be more in favor of FSXMS

Thanks for the participants so far, but I NEED MORE RELEVANT REPLIES.

My enthusiasm was a bit dented by two off-topic posts, TBH. ;P

(Because more relevant samples -> more statistical significance)

Win 10 offers to transfer everything or only personal data or a user-defined set of data. The latter allows you to choose everything to nothing.
For the exact scope of what is transferred, refer your inquiry to the good old search engine with the big "G" that possesses part of your soul.
 
Got one more sample for you now, I upgraded my main PC too. :)
