I have the necessary ports setup in my router (Netgear R6220) but when I ran the Port Tester mentioned over on the Flight Server it showed that the ports were timing out, something wasn't right. I found a different tester and when it loaded it said it was testing the ports through this ip Address (192.168.1.7), that's not what I found when I ran "ipconfig" (192.168.1.2). Anyway, I went back into the router and reassigned the various ports to go through the new ip address. Closed out the router setup and ran the test on the various ports needed for multiplayer. . .every one passed, no problems.
GREAT (or so I thought) Loaded FSHost, gave it "23456" to locate a session. . .zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. . .nothing! FSHost is program that is "Allowed" through the firewall, so it isn't being blocked by the firewall. I was using a payware version of Avast Virus Protection software and uninstalled that and opted for the freeware version instead (long story). The necessary programs are also in the "allowed" list there.
Anyway, going back to last evening, before I changed the ip address in the router to 192.168.1.7, I was using 192.168.1.2 and I was able to use FSHost, found all the servers and actually flew a few legs in Multiplayer. . .BUT. . .the port tester showed that the ports were timing out. Fast Forward to today, I change the ip address, the ports are now open and playing great but FSHost doesn't find any servers, lol.
