Possible to have two sets of SCENEDB & SCENERY folders....

One set containing the Rhumbas mesh and mask and the other set stock mesh and masks and somehow use two separate shortcuts calling out cfg files that have each of these folder-sets included as a preference in the PREF section?

Such as:

[PREFS]
UseSCENEDB=rhumbaSCENEDB
UseSCENERY=rhumbaSCENERY
....

and likewise for the stock?

Chris,

You could just as easily do this with two scenery.cfg files.

Hiya Rami,

Yeah, that is pretty much what I had in mind.

Right now I use all sorts of CFS2 start shortcuts calling out different cfg files depending on which GSL file I want to be flying around in.

And I was hoping to achieve something of the same sort of "efficiency" by specifying the SCENEDB and SCENERY folders I want CFS2 to open with.

I gave it a try last night. Added those lines to one of my gsl specific cfs2.cfg files, copied the two folders and renamed the copies rhumbaSCENDB and rhumbaSCENERY to see how it went.

It started up fine.

However, just to make sure that it was indeed using the renamed rhumbaSCENDB and rhumbaSCENERY folders, I changed the name of the stock folders and CFS2 crashed because it couldn't find the dem4km.bgl.

So that tells me that the lines telling it to use the rhumbaSCENDB and rhumbaSCENERY folders didn't work.

I am trying to save myself the trouble of doing a complete new stock install in order to use my older scenery and have it look the way it is supposed to.

Any pointers would be welcome.

Cheers,
Chris
