POSTED: BoB Skin for Tango's Bf110C

....:gossip: I don't suppose it occurred to anyone that I designed the DP for realistic effect, as opposed to technical accuracy in a Sim engine that is skewed unrealistically to favor the player.

Yeah, i scoped that out too, but didn't want to sound off as critical or "in a foul moody" :icon_lol:. I just adapted my tactics, like i did back when everybody was howlin' about the killer Betty. In spite of his uber weapon, your gunner only has 45 degrees of high vertical and lateral swivel. That leaves the front quarters widely exposed to quick ninja strikes. ;)

:karate:

I know, I know....

I've been there....plus having spent hundreds of hours testing missions, I know the sound of those hits all too well. :costumes::costumes:

....but I can't resist stirring things up a bit. :spider:

PS: Little historical advise: The right side code should read just as the one on the left:

M8+CN (C in red) or
M8+CP (C in yellow)

http://www.michael-reimer.com/CFS2/CFS2_Profiles/ETO_AXIS_Luftwaffe_ZG76.html

Sopwith, I am wondering about the "L" on your skin? According my information, the "three wasps" logo was introduced under II./ZG 1.
If so, the yellow code should end with a "P"?!

Further, the place of the swastika is interesting. Many planes already flown in 1939 still wore the old one in the center of the fin.
New planes of 1940 had it replaced more forward, probably because it was easier to paint without the rudder.[/quote]

Well, I'm no expert on the Luftwaffe - here's my reference - I can paint it any way you like.................

..........so it should be 2N + DP? & DP + 2N ?

Therefore, Blue Devil will be doing the DP, AIR and CFG files for all my aircraft, and will have them approved by the 'panel of experts' prior to the aircraft being posted....as I see no reason to waste my time doing these files only to have them trashed. And this will also give BD some purpose in life. Tango out. :ernae:

Jaxon seems to be trying to cover several things in one post, but I don't know the answers:

1. I think he is saying that the first BoB skin should read M8+CN on the right side of the fuselage, just as it does on the left, instead of CN+M8.

2. He is questioning the color of the next to last letter in both skins.

3. He is questioning the last letter (L) in the second skin.

We may be losing something in translation, but his English is a hell of a lot better than my German. :engel016:

Hi H100,
It doesn't look like they're still available???

Unless someone has still got them?

...a new fuselage.bmp that Sopwith whipped-up to correct any issues in this area. Thanks, SC.

It should be available to download for this PM. :amen:

Correction: The Upload Sign-In page is down, so this is on hold.

You are right, I meant both skins, but did not separate the advises properly - sorry. Seeing the profile of 2N+DL, it seems to me, this plane was originally of 3./ZG1 and only used by a crew of the 4./ZG1, which was part of the II. Gruppe. If so, I would expect there was no II. Gruppe logo painted on it, as long as the A/C was only lent. If the A/C moved to the II./Gruppe, I would expect a re-Code together with the three wasps. Anyway, a very interesting scheme, you found there!
