Thought I never would, ...but, ...

I'm retirin' the _OH (she just can't swing w/ your girl) and goin' all TR B-25/PBJ-1.

Beautiful .mdl w/ FR's as good as the ol'girl.

Kudos TR, ...ya done good.


Now the Gripes:

G.1 Could ya put a fixed forward firing machine gun (or two) in the .mdl port nose? ...ya have a gunstation there, ...and I was just goin' to put one of oldwheat's Bbl's, ...a gun would do a lot for the A/C. ( if the FR hit wasn't excessive)


G.2 The ventral turret.

There's a gunstation for it, ...but AI doesn't deploy it, ...and PF can't see it.

If it was linked to the gear, ...the AI would deploy it. If it was deployed as default, ...you could retract it. If it was on the "concord nose" you could set it different for PF and AI in the A/C .cfg (I think). Or find a .cfg command (ie. EXIT = 1) so that it could be set one way or the other, ...and then adjusted. The Marines removed most of'em in the PTO because they got cruddy and jammed in their PBJ-1's, ...so it could be ignored w/ the deletion of the gunstation, ...but what a waste for B-25 use.

That's it TR, ...put yourself on Mt. Rushmore for this one...

Well, ...

...it started out as this b25panel.zip, ...then I worked on it a bit.

It was my _OH panel, ...W/ the bombsight rig, ...and a control panel (though ya don't really need one, ...cause this one's now 2D)

I'm still tweakin' it, ...(lost the engine shut-down buttons when I went to 2D w/it (though it sped-up the view (hat) change time a lot) and may have to put'em on another panel.

PM me if you want the .cfg file for it. (Would include bombsight .bmps also)


PS. TR, ...How about a PBJ-1 version, ...w/ twin, vertically stacked 0.50cal's in the starboard nose, ...and a retractable ray-dome in place of the ventral turret.

Now, ...that would be EXTRIE Sweet...(might just mint ya on a coin for that one)

A lot of good....

...ideas and material. Trying to get to it all. However, the next B-25 coming out of the shop will be the D model 'strafer' of the 405th Bomb Sqdn Green Dragons.....and she's getting close to completion. Flying out of the strips near Port Moresby, they were more than a thorn in the side of the Japanese at Rabaul, Wewak and Lae to mention a few. :woot:

Someone was asking about Sound packages for the Mitchell the other day. The best one I have found is from the RCS Mitchell Mk.III. It's a big D/L but worth it for the sound package alone.

...has chosen to finish the new aircraft as Serial Number 130117, the plane belonging to young Captain Tom Cheli, commander of the 405th Bomb Squadron, The Green Dragons flying out of Port Moresby, in which he earned the CMH. Getting close to posting this new one.:applause:

Intricate engine noise, ...prop whine, ...w/o the heavy base rumble that seems to find its way into these multi's, ...(that knocks the stuff off my desk and blows my speakers out).

Alas (or all ass acordin' the the little woman), ...

A skinner I am not.

I have, ...however, ...

1. Re-worked the 1% .air and .cfg to reflect -1C specs(including 6th crew tail gunner addition and A/C contact points)

2. Modified the ACM .dp to reflect twin starboard fixed forward firing 0.50's

3. Added single 0.50cal tail gun.(to go w/ your gunner, ...just lose the plexi cone)

4. Deleted ventral gun station. (most of the gunners got sick using it anyway, ...when it worked, ...because of the periscope.) You could leave it, ...swap it for a ray-dome, ...or delete it all together and put the complexity into cowl flaps...

5. added oldweat's gun Bbl's till a proper .mdl comes along. (they use some of the wing rack and bomb hardpoints)

6. Put the 215 gal. long range tank (not to be confused w/ the 335 gal. ferry tank) as a internal drop tank w/ the reduced payloads used w/it, ...so it can be added(filled)/selected/and fuel jetisoned like an aux tank when needed.


There are some fantastic skinners in this wing, ...

I'll make the coffee...
