Prepar3D v3 Screenshots

Montie and Scoth6, what weather engine and weather texture combinations are you guys using?

Hi Airtrooper,

I am using Rex 3 Essential Plus OD for textures and Opus FSX for the weather engine. I find it shows the best, most realistic looking weather when set to live weather, although I think these shots were using a saved weather theme that was also from Florida but from a few days earlier.

Both programs are a few years old now, but both support P3D and work well together.

Cheers,

Rock, nice stuff for sure, you have Fifi ? since shes going to be at the California Capitol airshow, you should be flying at Mather ,doing the pattern and the way they usually fly at the airshow, which would be to the west of the runway (usually..lol) watch them circle around behind the crowd this year to make me look like a fool...lol...thanks again for your help at dads celebration.

Hi Dave! Thanks for the compliment! No sorry bud I don't have Fifi. I'll look though! Was so looking forward to an sirshow soon as I haven't been in years!
Thanks for inviting me to your dad's life celebration.

P.S.S. Great shots Daube, Doc and Scott!

I have finally installed Milton's latest beauty in my P3D.
The aircraft looks absolutely beautiful, both inside and out.
The only problems, which were expectable because it's an FS9 model, are the non-clickable 2D gauges (mainly the radios, but since they are available in popups, it's ok).

Other than that, the plane works great in P3D v3.3.5, with an acceptable FPS hit, and I enjoyed that test flight quite a lot.
I did notice a strange behavior on the water surface though, making it very difficult to land and takeoff, but this might just be a problem with the contact points, I'm not sure. I haven't checked the dedicated topic so there might already be some useful info there.

Anyways, thanks a lot to Milton and all those who assisted him on that project !!

Had a serious look at Gibson's Iraq but decided against it as the information on their site said not suitable for low level flying.
Shame about that but you can't have everything.
Your screenies look good Loerch but I'm sticking to my decision........:encouragement:

Super shots !

This Irak scenery sounds extremely interesting.
Of course I understand we can't expect any autogen on that, but for the desert areas this is not really a problem (towns are another issue).
However, it's really hard to understand what texture resolution they use. The website just mentions this:
12.5m true colour Scenery
Surely these textures are not 12 meters per pixel, are they ?

No, you really won't have any fun with this scenery below roughly 5000ft. Actually, make that 10000ft. But I don't expect to see OrbX Iraq anytime soon, so I thought I'd give it a try. I really like it and it is fun to place some SAMs in Iraq instead of Northern California or British Columbia, where I usually spend a lot of time in flightsim ;)

I don't know, I have never really looked into this resolution stuff. 12 meters per pixel means, that a 12m^2 large house/shed/something would be 1 Pixel on the ground bitmap? That sounds about right...

I will make some pictures from lower altitudes later today.

Thanks a lot for these additional shots (which look quite good too!).
From these I'm quite sure this is some 5m/pixel resolution, which was the maximum ground resolution in FS9.
Despite that low resolution, it does look good from medium or high altitudes. And it would look ok at low altitude if it had some autogen...
