Hello,

I just wanted to start freeflight from the USS Nimitz near San Francisco, but my plane rested on the water, whereas If I choose the P.A.N. CDG the plane is on the right place on the deck. What is wrong? Once I have read something about changing a config file or so but I can not remember anymore where and what ...

After you've saved the flight, you need to edit the resulting .FLT file in Notepad or an equivalent. Search for the line SimOnGround= and change True to False.

David, your hint works well and I think it was just what I have once read. But I am curious what is the reason behind this. Is this part of the model programming?

I'd suggest that FSX makes a difference between ground meshes and object meshes when reading FLT files. Probably because MS foresaw extensive use of 3rd party ground meshes they put in that switch so that their flights are still usable.
Just a guess.
