I tried to start up FS2004 tonight to do a little flyn' and get a blackscreen only way to reset is to go to task manager and "end process" for FS9. Then I get an error message which states "Failed to create DirectX Device" I am running Windows 7 with SP1 64 bit OPS, to be honest ain't never had a problem like this before, not never. Deleted my FS9 config no change. Before I scrap this install and start over, anybody got any clues ?

Try reinstalling DirectX....since the error message says something about DirectX, that is the first place to start.

If that doesn't do it....then think back to the last time your sim successfully ran....have you installed any new planes or scenery since that last sim time?
