Problems with Yahoo email

This morning I started to have problems with my Yahoo email account. Seems I can receive emails OK, open and read them fine. The problems starts with either forwarding them or replying to them. What happens is in that case is one of two things:

1) I get a box that says "Vertification" at the top with the usual combination of upper and lower case letters to be typed in the appropriate space. After hitting the "send" key, sometimes it transmits, and sometimes it doesn't;

2)In any case what always appears is another box that says:
"Your message was not sent Suspicious activity was detected on your account. To protect your account and those of our users, your message was not sent. Please follow the guidelines outlined on our help page to resume sending mail.
If this error continues, please contact Yahoo! Customer Care for further help.
We apologize for the inconvenience."

I've contacted Customer Care, changed various settings per their instructions, and this still happens. Getting ready to shut down the Yahoo account and look for something else. Anybody else seen anything like this?

yeah I had that happen too, my account was hijacked and used to send spam. After going back and forth with Yahoo for a while I said to heck with it and stopped using it for anything other then read only, I now use gmail for all outgoing e-mails.

This is all happening in the middle of moving, plus a job offer that arrived via email - really adds to the stress level. I'm now on comcast for email, just using the yahoo to read the email and replying through comcast, just as was previously stated. Come to think of it, my sister's Yahoo account was also hijacked a short time ago so this is probably related. Yahoo wants you to submit your questions about the account and then wait 48 hours for things to settle down before they reply. Things happen a little faster than that, so as I said I think I'm going with comcast now.:banghead:
