FSX USAAC Boeing B-9. The Boeing B9 was the first all metal bomber produced for the USAAC. It could outrun the fighters of that time frame. This is a native FSX project. It has DXT5.dds textures with specular shine. The VC has animated controls and the gauges are back lighted. The livery is for its assignment to Wright Field. By Paul Clawson.[/SIZE]

My model of the Boeing B-9 is now available at simviation and flightsim. (you all beat me to it!) The B-9 was the first all metal twin engine bomber acquired by the USAAC. It first flew in 1931. It had a semi-monocoque fuselage and was a monoplane. It was faster than the fighters of the day but did have visibility problems and still had open cockpits. It was quickly replaced by the closed cockpit Martin B-10 and later the Douglas B-18.
It is a native FSX Acceleration model, has DXT5.DDS textures with a specular shine. I could not find any data on the panel and cockpit so I modeled mine after similar planes of the same era, mostly the Martin B-10. The VC has animated flight controls and back lighted gauges.

Best, Paul

Aren't we fighting King Kong! Darned gargantuan wobbley monkeys!
Hey, I forgot about Kong! I'll hit him with a couple 500-pounders (or whatever this old bomber carried), might cause some collateral damage to the Empire State Building though. :icon_lol:

Hi Paul,

Looks great !
I'm very busy with real-world stuff this month, but I'll certainly have a go at it in Oct. when thing settles down.
