Question about Addons_Linker

SOH-CM-2026
I tried this early on in my MSFS move and got it so messed up I had to start all over again with aircraft, scenery and other addons. That was several years ago and I've accumulated so much now that I thought I'd give it another go.

According to the readme if I have the MS-Store version it may not work due to encryption concerns (I do). I'd like to hear from anyone who has had experience with that particular scenario and if you were successful using Linker or if it isn't worth the bother.

Using since my own switch to 2020. No major issues lately, I did notice some add-ons seem to work better in the default Community folder verse the linked system. Also learned about the encrypted Asobo set up with Market Place purchases, so I try to not buy there. I have a basic folder structure set up on another drive for aircraft/liveries/scenery etc for Linker to read from. Download a new livery off Flightsim.to, add to the proper folder and then make sure it's checked after starting Linker. I then start M2020 from Linker menu. Hate the json system, used to the old way of making changes outside of the sim, now I have to remember to run MSFSLayoutGenerator.

I had some issues with it mainly when my drive config changed due to temporarily plugged in removable drives. If that happens the linker does not find its source drive/folder anymore. I got that under control and it runs fine so far.
I usually only use the linker for stuff that not I want to run all the time, so I can easily switch it on/off.

Cheers,
Mark

Yepp, I use the Linker with a MS-Store version of FS2020 and I've had zero problems. It's a real boon by my reckoning.
Same. It's a (literal) game changer. I hop between Misty Moorings bush flying, Ontario/Michigan GA and Caribbean island hopping, and it allows me to quickly switch between preset groups.
