Question for FS-Cast B-17 and SkyUnlimited owners

Hey everyone, no need to reply to this if you don't have time, but I'm trying to determine the minimum specs, needed to run some of our products. Especially the Texans and FS-Cast B-17G.

I was going to put the recommended specs for FSX, but I wanted to hear how they performed on the various computers the community is using and what your specs are. Getting this information would really help us and give us an idea just how far we can push polygons and textures without causing performance issues.

Thanks

Your Fortress performs on par with or better than default aircraft on my system. I love it. I have frames locked at 26, and I never see a single dip when flying the B-17. Smooth.

My specs:
nVidia nForce 680i SLI DDR2 800 motherboard
CoolerMaster 700W Power Supply
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor
SATA 300 500GB Hard Drive
nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3

2 Gigs of 1066MHz RAM
Vista Home Premium 32bit
AeroCool Extreme Engine 3T case

Saitek X-52 Flight Control System
HP 22in widescreen monitor at 1680 X 1050

I've built a 28 plane WWII B-17 combat box with your B-17. Fourteen originate from Molesworth, and fourteen originate from Basingbourne. They join up southwest of Basingbourne and fly to St. Nazaire, France and back. During taxi with each group, I get about 18-22 fps, depending on how many planes are in view at once. In the air I get a solid 31 fps...because that's where I have it locked. Your B-17 is perfect for this because it has various LOD's. I can't do this with other bombers. The max AS B-24's I can get in the sky at once without having a slide show is nine. My specs: Intel QX9650 OC'd to 3.8 (FSB@1400 and memory@1080), 780i sli mobo, 2xGTX 8800 vid cards, 2x150g raptor HD's, 4g's Patriot RAM, Vista ultimate 32 bit, Gateway 30" monitor. Here's a recycled picture. Hope I'm not boring anyone with it.

It went very well with me, Jessy- smooth as butter :ernae:

Bone,

That's incredible. Did you build the formation using AI, or is it done with the FSRecorder or another tool?

Having that knowledge would have helped a lot with the B-24 movie.

They both work pretty good for me, depending a bit on scenery I run them at about 18-24(locked at 24) frames, while this system is becoming slower anyway, guess it´d be time for a complete reset, but that´d take too much time right now...

That is better than most other aircraft I have.

Thanks. I used AirtrafficFX and FSrecorder on a couple of runs, and individual flights and FSrecorder to fill the gaps. The AirtrafficFX formation setup put three wingmen in echelon on each wing of my lead. I used a flak effect that was made for FS9. The formation gets flacked-up over the french coast south of Guernsey and over St Nazaire. The route I used was a flight track that the 303rd and 91st Bomb Groups actually used when they were doing the job on the St Nazaire Nazi sub pens. My cruise speed put the entire flight at 3hrs and 10 minutes, which was much faster than what a B-17 formation would have done. A cool thing about the F-cast B-17, is that when you drop your bombs, the other planes drop too.
