    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Question for real world tube flyers

I was at our airport today (KGRB) to go use a discovery flight gift certificate and the Packers chartered plane (757) was just leaving for Tampa.
They proceded to use a runway that would have given them a cross wind of 15 knots and then when they tookoff, they didn't use any flaps.
Even my instructor said "Wow, no flaps!". He used a LOT of runway to get off.
Just wondered why they would do that?
What advantage?
Or was it some strange way of representing the Packers season so far? :isadizzy:
 
Sometimes, on smaller biz jets, they will do performance take-offs. I am sure you can do that with the larger birds. Perhaps the lower weight from only having a team on board instead of a huge full capacity of passengers makes it possible to do that.


But....! I am no certified pilot nor tube liner pilot. Curious to know myself..
