• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

There ya go. I don't get tips for mowing lawns, and that can run up to 70 bucks or more for 2 acres. Everybody expects a tip even if they don't do a thing for ya. Everybody is tip crazy. How about a tip to the customer for a change?

What about those that do a bad job for you or on you and you're not satisfied with the results, should they still get a tip? I don't think so.
 
My hairdresser is the owner of the salon
i never tip her
she get whats she charges me she creates the prices
if thats not enough up your prices
i work in a service industry i get no tips
and do not expect one
there are people who live on tips
such as waiters and bar tenders
thats fair enough
they get one from me
thats it
but only if they do a good job
if not no tip!

The person doing my hair usually charges 13 dollars for the cut and wash or wash and cut. No blow drying as I prefer to air dry ...

I usually drop a 20 and walk away. :wavey:

Pretty much what I have to deal with having long hair, I use 4 different things daily, adds up. Luckily I am friends with a person that runs Toni & Guy saloon and I get a deal on the service and the supplies, but it's still expensive. Thinking of cutting it all off, man talk about saving some bucks then!

When I was a musician and lived in Austin and my hair was longer (past my butt) I had a sweet deal. My girlfriends sister owned her own hair saloon and she always hooked me and my bandmates up!
 
My sister is a hair dresser and does my hair for me.Her tip is she lives rent free with us :costumes:.Actually she has been living here since we moved here.

My wife hits the hairdresser about every 6 - 7 weeks too. When it did hit about $250, she started to go to a "basement" operation, you know, knock three times, etc. The price there is $100 plus a $15 tip. For her nails, she does it every two weeks, $25 plus a $5 tip. Panther, I am shocked that you are so innocent in this field, you should know by now that women are expensive to keep.:costumes::costumes:

Expensive to keep? You know theres Hookers and Blow that may be cheaper....:friday:
 
we have a pretty sweet deal at our hairstylist.
my wife occasionally gives her some flowers for her shop. she gets them for free when they have been around to long, but before you can tell they are about to start wilting. they usually last about a week. in exchange, the wife and i, and the 2 kids get our hair done when we need it and she cuts us a nice break on the price. i still tip her though. somehow i couldn't imagine not tipping her without being embarrassed. she must do ok, she goes home (to china) 3 times a year, for several weeks at a time. come summer time, my step daughter will be working there making some extra cash, and learning about the trade.
 
$160 haircut!?!? Someone's raking in the bucks!:isadizzy: I use the same clippers we use on the dogs. Maybe that why I have fleas!:costumes: Draining the budget is one reason I don't have girlfriends. Sucks since I do love the pretty ladies...
 
I used to get a haircut about once a quarter "whether I needed it or not." Actually, I waited until it started to irritate me. I also shaved once a week. Now that I work where the public can see me, I keep up appearances a little better. My haircuts are $12 + a $3 tip. I've been going to the same woman for several years. I call her up and all I have to say is "I need a haircut." She says "Hi Tom, when's good for you?" Pretty good memory considering I only see her about every six weeks!:costumes:
 
I'm in the same boat as Tom....bald, and loving it!!

Well, okay. I wouldn't mind having my hair back.

I've still got most of my hair - I just wait 'till I get shaggy to get it cut!:costumes:

(I say "most"... There's a scar on my forehead that used to be at the hairline - but it's move down about a half inch over recent years!:isadizzy:)
