Question of the Day (03-21-10)

Cloud9Gal

~Fury of the Winds~

If you could make one of the following happen, which one would you pick?

A) Your picture on a postage stamp
B) Your statue in a park
C) A college named after you
D) A Nobel prize
E) A national holiday in your honor

Dang, C9G, where do you come up with these questions...?!? ( :d ) How are we supposed to answer this? I'll never get my picture on a stamp, and I wouldn't want a nobel prize. I haven't done anything to warrent a college being named after me, and a holiday is, well, unlikely. So, that leave a park statue. If it's in the middle of the woods, miles from "civilization", then I might go for it... :)

Statue or holiday, the latter being the more favourable alternative.

I'd hate watching the grass grow from the other side while being gradually forgotten.

Picture on a stamp...

Your statue in a park ---> Too many birds for my taste.

A college named after you --> If it's a college of common sense...maybe.
A Nobel prize --> Not interested in the prize or money
A national holiday in your honor ---> Over time it'll be just another day

Picture on a stamp --> Probably be the last one issued and that'll last forever !!! :icon_lol:

It would have to be C.

Reason being is that in order for a school to be named after you, it is usually a sign that you were a major finacial contributor to the school, or that you were some how otherwise famous.

IF I were a major contributor, then that would mean most likely, I'd still have money left over ... :jump:

Yeah, I'll take C.

Become a posthumous world leader and get all five.

None for me for real C0G, I thrive on my anonymity.

Guys, don't you have to be DEAD to have you picture on a stamp? I am not ready for that just yet.

I would pick Nobel Prize

Because, it would mean that I had done something that contributed to making our world a better place.

Isn't there a rule somewhere in all that Nobel Peace Prize process that says that the winner of the prize has to donate the cash award to a charity? Or do something philanthropic with the money? In otherwords you can't use it for your own gain?

Hmmm. . . let's see -

No stamp; my back would be sticky and that would imply certain things about me that would be wrong !

No statue; that would just become a Pigeon toilet

No Nobel prize; They have no further validity for me after recent "Awards".

No holiday; just another lazy day in the neighborhood -

I guess a college - higher education is a nobel goal !

i think i'd go for the statue, if it could be like this pic. i never heard of a statue of a fat middle aged redneck before

I really wish there were a "none of the above" option. I guess I'd also have to opt for the college out of that bunch.

E: National Holiday! It's the only one that actually gives something positive back to the people; who wouldn't like an extra day off? Nobel prize winners are only remembered for quiz show answers.

If it has to be a choice... guess Nobel Prize... must have meant I did something important... err then there is last year's Peace Prize winner... :barf:

So it has to be a prize in science....

... and it has to be awarded anonymously. I am not one to take credit for something that should be a part of the human condition.

Let people bask in their own glory... I do what I do for the simple satisfaction of helping others.
