Question of the Day (09.01.10)

Well I was just going to put fly, but the forum software says that's too short. So, I'll just say fly.

I agree with Willy on this one. Learn to Fly! Absolutely the best time of my life.

There is something magic about rising early in the morning, doing your preflight in the dawn light in anticipation of what is to come. Sometimes you get to talk with another pilot doing the same thing. You ready your aircraft for dawn flight. There is nothing like the surge of your steed as it climbs and heads up into a black-blue canopy. Sometimes you see stars you never saw before, and it looks like thousands upon thousands of lamps lit just for you as a passage to the deep blue. Just as you reach altitude you see the beginnings of day and the colors are a kaleidoscope of wonder. The sun's fingers reach for the climb into the dark blue. Off to my left I could see the fog bank rolling back from the San Francisco Bay as the first rays of light touch the tallest buildings. I see the long shadow of Mount Diablo run toward the bay and quickly recede to it's hiding place as the sun mounts to it's place of authority. The throaty little engine ceases it roar as I throttle back and listen to wind in the wings and watch the earth below come alive. The wheat colored hills of Livermore and Pleasanton merge with the multi-colored buildings of the city as it comes to an abrupt halt in the muddy bay. I will never forget the MAGIC of early morning flight.

Enjoy being a baby, cry as much as you like, sleep as much as you feel like, that makes mom and dad get your attention fast. If you grow fast as a toddler, they will put you on time out if you mess up, then they put you to school, and teach you rules, and when you know everything, they will tell you to keep your mouth to yourself, then they will not listen to you and laugh at what you have in mind, they will say you are just a child, I wish my Momma and some adults would listen to me sometimes. :wiggle: Hannah

That was one deep thought Ted. Almost felt like I was there with you.

My son was once asked in class when he was in the 4th grade if he could have any anything in the world what would it be.

He answer prompted his teacher to call me in for a session, that eventually resulted in his being advanced a grade.

His answer was:

"I would like another breath of air."

When I asked him why he answered it that way, his response to me was that everything else in the world could wait, but he had to have a breath of air in the next two minutes or so.

My advice to a newborn.....BREATHE!

And don't stop.

TeaSea, that was a good response! If you're not breathing, nothing else matters.

Family and friendships are everything. Everything else is secondary.

Listen to this song regularly......
