Question re FP Me410 and ETO

I have attempted to install the Firepower Me410s in ETO. I copied the associated Weapons, Pylons and Guns file. I have no problem with loadouts. However, when I switch to the gunner's position, I get a CTD.

Is this correctable?

Yes. "me_410null_gun.xdp". Everything is OK in terms of flying and loadouts. Every postion works (pilot, pilot IFR, bombsight on the me_410a) - except for the gunner's seat.

PS: Just temporarily intalled the ME410a into my vanilla CFS3 install and it worked fine there. Odd.
 
I've got it in I don't know how many installs and I've never had the slightest trouble. CFS can sometimes be funny that way!
 
I must agree with Nigel,
As I have said: sometimes our beloved flight sims can be as picky as a ex-wife in court..

I too have this loaded into several of my set ups without a problem.. But one never knows sometimes what a set up likes or not..

Best advice , check the shared folder in the main aircraft folder in case something is missing there.. Or the Guns and or weapons, pylons folders..

yes, I would start there .... for me no problems with the FP 410 in ETO either. Don't ya just love CFS3?!? :rolleyes:
 
Well, I'm stumped. The same files were installed each time, yet in ETO only I get this issue. Who knows.

I think - I think - I've solved the problem. I deleted the uisel.xml and the ViewUI.xml after installing each Me410. This seems to have done the trick. The reason I chose to delete the ViewUI.xml is that I recalled when installing the most recent updates to ETO (1.30 and 1.31), one of the instructions included deleting this file at the completion of the installation process. Thought there might be a connection. Probably not, but it worked.

Interestingly, I needed to delete both. When I deleted only the view file, after restarting in a different era, the same problem occurred. Now I've tested each aircraft in each era and it seems to have alleviated the problem. (Although, having done this era switching a bunch, when I now choose say Era 3 in the swapper, the BOB era splashscreen appears however briefly before the appropriate splashsreen comes on.)

Addendum: Nope, wrong again. Works for a while, now back to CTD.
 
Sometimes i´ve this FP 410 CTD problem too. I often fly with Hud only. As far as i remember this might help: before choosing the gunner view, switch to the vc (F3 in my key setting) and then to gunner. Just give it try and good luck! :wavey:
