Question re targets in Chase view

Is there any way to limit the targets in Chase view so that you don't have to cycle through a bevy of ground objects before choosing the enemy aircraft? Even when the tactical display mode is set for aircraft, when tabbing through the Chase view, every conceivable ground target appears before the enemy AI shows.

Thanks.

Weird! That has never happen to me.

I do not now the answer at this time.

Maybe someone else can give it to you and we can all learn at the same time!:173go1:

This has always been the case with me. Even if I target an aircraft first, in the Chase view window, I need to tab through a slew of other potential targets (hangars, crates, foxholes) before the targeted plane appears.

I started with CFS3 as my first combat flight sim. So I merely had to tab through only those targets in the mode chosen on the tactical screen (All, Aircraft, Vehicles, Ships, Airbases) in the chase view. In CFS2, everything appears so I must tediously tab through those targets first.

If your Tactical Display is on "G" for Ground Targets the only Enemy Aircraft that should be listed are those that are Static. No Flying AI's should show up in this mode.

The problem is, the display is not setup for ground targets. Yet when I enter chase view and begin to tab the targets, they ground objects appear in the Chase view screen. In other words, if I start a QC session against, let's say a single enemy, the tactical screen with only show the enemy aircraft. When I set up a window and create a chase view, I need to cycle through a slew of targets before the aircraft appears.

OK, there's the rub right there.

In CFS2, When you enter Chase view you change the function of the Tab Key. You are no longer Selecting Targets, just changing the POV. It will cycle through every Friendly and Enemy Aircraft, Ship, Vehicle and Building that you have been close to; but it will not select them as a target.

If you want to View the Aircraft currently active in the mission first Hit Shift+TAB..
